Richard W. Booker, Sr.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Richard W. Booker Sr., 83, of Logansport, Louisiana will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Chapel, 943 Polk Street, Mansfield, Louisiana. Ted Booker will be officiating the service. Interment will follow at Prude Cemetery, Grand Cane, Louisiana. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Mansfield, Louisiana.

Richard was born on September 22, 1939, to John and Edith Ridgeway Booker in Stanley, Louisiana. He entered into rest with his family by his side on Monday, August 28, 2023.

Preceding Richard in death are his parents; sister, Mary Canipe; nephews, David “Claw” Reynolds, Little Randy Canipe, and Sandy Booker; and great-granddaughter, McKayla Lynn Wheatley.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Jackie Booker; son, Richard Booker Jr. (Rebecca); daughter, Evelyn Stevenson (Johnny); sisters, Gaynell May (Frank), JoAnn Prince, and Linda Nussman; brothers, Johnny Ray Booker, Earl Sandifer Booker (Amanda), Jackie Dale Booker, and Roland Foster Booker; grandchildren, Stacy Malone, Justin Lee, Samantha Wheatley (Mike Jr), Zachary Lee, Brett Gallegos (Hannah), Haden Booker (Jackie), Cody Gallegos (Liz), Devin Booker, and Victoria Booker; great grandchildren, Matthew Kowalcyke, Xander Gallegos, Noah Lee, Connor Lee, Sebastian Gallegos, Lea Gallegos, Dean Gallegos, Amber Wheatley, McKenzie Wheatley, Luke Malone, Jameson Gallegos, Jeryn Lee, Ryden Gallegos, Little Phil, and Caston Gallegos; and special friends, Warren Booker and Family and Ted Booker.

Honoring Richard as pallbearers will be Justin Lee, Haden Booker, Devin Booker, Jimmy Booker, Mark Fisher, and Mike Wheatley. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Hensley and Jeff Hensley.
