Shreveport, LA - Celebration of Life services for Mr. Richard Anthony Bullock, 76, will be held at 12 PM, Saturday, January 31, 2015, in the chapel of Rose-Neath Southside with Bro. John Harp officiating. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Forest Park West, Shreveport, LA.
The family would like to welcome guests in remembering the wonderful life Richard lived Friday, January 30, 2015, from the hours of 5-7 PM at Rose-Neath Southside.
Mr. Bullock was born May 22, 1938, in Bayou Meto, raised in Pine Bluff, AR, to the late Leo Nichols and Lillian May Weiner Bullock. He was met by his Jagerman with open arms, leading him home January 28, 2015. He was a member of Brookwood Baptist Church and enjoyed his Sunday School Class. He attended Pine Bluff High School in Arkansas. Following high school he attended Arkansas A&M College where he studied Industrial Education. He was a Mason when he lived in Arkansas. After A&M he went to work at International Paper, retiring after forty plus years of dedicated services. Mr. Bullock attended LSUS graduating with honors and a degree in Computer Science in 2005. Several years following retirement he went back to work for IP where he traveled doing classification and coding, sometimes taking him out of the Country. He always enjoyed working for IP and the friends he worked with. Mr. Bullock enjoyed playing tennis and visiting everyone as he walked the neighborhood. Mr. and Mrs. Bullock always enjoyed traveling with friends and family. He will be remembered as the ultimate go-to person, loving unconditional without judgment and always tried to have the best answer when his girls were in need.
Mr. Bullock was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; Mary Catherine Bullock, Barbara Blanche Walter, Linda Ann Ingram, and Cora Frances Gordon, his great- grandson and best friend, Jager Trace (Jagerman) Arthur and son-in-law; Randy Duncan.
Left to cherish the wonderful memories Richard leaves behind will be his beloved wife of 56 years; Mrs. Carolyn S. Bullock, two daughters; Susan Bullock Martinez and Sherri Bullock, two brothers; John Bullock and wife Carolyn, Tom Bullock and wife Mary Ann, two granddaughters; April Arthur and Kadie Duncan along with many extended family members and a number of wonderful friends.
Honoring Mr. Bullock as pallbearers will be Chris Cherry, Lance Lender, Richard Lopez, Scott Haw, Mark Bandy, and Percy Rogers. Honorary pallbearer will be Bill Lindsey.
In honor of Mr. Richard Bullock, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or to your charity of choice.
