Richard was a beautiful soul that loved hard. You never knew what would come out of his mouth, but he always had a story to tell. He loved to get a rise out of people and keep them laughing. He would go out of his way to help anyone and everyone. He was easy to get along with, until you messed with his kids! He was very protective and would stand up for them no matter what. He loved to travel and Paris, France felt like a second home to him.
Dickie took great pride in his family. His parents were a huge influence on his life. As well as his sister, aunts and uncles, niece, and a slew of cousins. Dickie was especially proud of his son, James, daughter Sarah and son-in-law, Cole. He would move mountains for them. He was very open and understanding and supported them on any path they chose in life. He was the best Poppie to his grandkids, Connor and Caroline. They lit up his life and enjoyed their numerous lunch dates together. They had fun laughing, dancing, singing, and sharing and the occasional fart jokes. Dickie never met a stranger and touched many people's lives. His friends held a special place in his heart as well as he in theirs.
Richard was a Licensed Interior Designer for 36 years. He co-owned The Cottage Interiors with Cindy Miciotto for many years before taking their talents to Designer's Showroom. This began his professional relationship with Randy Williamson. Together they traveled to Paris where they would search the city to bring back unique finds and antiques to their clients in the states. Richard was in his element when he was designing homes and creating beautiful spaces. Not only did he do beautiful work for his clients, but he gained great friendships from them as well.
Richard loved reading and studying the Bible. On January 27, 2012, he became a licensed Minister of the Cogic Church of God in Christ. Later he was ordained under Apostle Ray Williams. He enjoyed sharing his love of Jesus to everyone and ministering to many people. Ark of the Covenant was his church home and, Pastor Nadell Fullwood welcomed him with open arms. He loved preaching Thursday Bible studies at The Door with Pastor Tom Hill and having Saturday prayer meetings. Richard had a very powerful prayer language and loved praying over people. When he prayed, you listened!
