HOMER, LA: Funeral services were held for Mr. Richard Cary Lee, 83, at the Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer, LA on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Derrell Cardwell, officiating. Interment followed at Tulip Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.
Mr. Lee was born February 25, 1932 in Claiborne Parish, LA to William Harrison and Grace Harmon Lee. He entered into rest on Monday, August 24, 2015 in Minden, LA following a lengthy illness. Mr. Lee was the youngest of eleven children. Mr. Lee was a self-educated, very successful business man who was a partner in Lee Brother's Dairy and Trucking Company. He also traveled extensively working across the country in places such as Alabama and Oregon spending his last years of retirement raising beef cattle on his Athens farm.
Mr. Lee was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Gloria Jean Stewart and Annice LaVerne Lee; and ten siblings.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ola Lee; five children, Cindy Lee Robinson and husband Donnie, Vicki Lee Myers and husband Robert, both of Athens, LA, Wes Pixley and wife Jennifer of Bossier City, LA, Sonja Pixley of Katy, Tx, Beth Carpenter of Minden, LA; six grandchildren, Kimberly Mason and Kenny, Donna Jo Hall and Jimmy, Candice Myers, Christy Scott and Jeremy, Heather Pearson and Jordan, Hannah Alexander and Brannon; thirteen great- grandchildren, Jessi Matter and Nick, Taylre Watson, Whitney Bradley and Adam, Gavin Hall, Garrett Hall, Charleigh Jo Hall, Toni Grace Hall, Lee McWilliams, A. J. McWilliams, Ryleigh Myers, Hailey Scott, Barnes Pearson and Webb Pearson; a great-great-granddaughter Lexi Bradley; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Special thanks from the family of Mr. Lee to Debbie Hudson and Meadowview staff for the compassion and love shown to him as his caregivers.
Pallbearers were Garrett Hall, Gavin Hall, Rodger Watson, Kenneth Volentine, Billy Cristler and Kenny Boy Volentine.
Honorary pallbearer were Danny Roy Moore and Travis Stewart.
