Richard "Richie" Glenn Brown

Funeral services for Richard “Richie” Glenn Brown, 62, will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Spring Ridge Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Dr. Derek Pearce.
 
Richie was born on November 14, 1961, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Glenn and Virginia Brown and passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024, in Shreveport.
 
Richie was a resident of Shreveport. As a child, he enjoyed all sports including basketball, baseball, and football. He loved playing golf, reading, and spending time with his children. He was a music enthusiast and loved listening to everything from country, gospel, and rock and roll. He won numerous awards while in school and graduated high school from Grawood Christian School where he played football. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana Monroe. After college, Richie took a position with Albertsons in Houston. He later returned to Shreveport and went to work for Western Union where he had a great career. He then moved to Coca-Cola Bottling Company for a better opportunity and retired from there.
 
 Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Glenn and Virginia Brown; and children, Madeline Lester, Luke Hebert, and Emily Hebert.
 
 Honoring Richie as pallbearers will be Jeff Anderson, Kevin Anderson, Scott Stripling, Landon Mitchell, Brenton Lester, and Scott Browning.
 
 The family suggests that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in Richie’s name.
