Richard G. Sullivant

BENTON, LA - Services for Richard G. Sullivant, 74, will be 2 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2016 at Cypress Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Steven Lewis, Rev. Skip Rainbolt and Rev. Anderson. Interment will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA. Richard was born December 26, 1941 to Mont and Pauline Sullivant-McSpadden in Hayti, MO and died February 16, 2016 in Shreveport, LA. He was a member of Fillmore Baptist Church, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of Bossier Parish Fire District Four and former president of Benton Parish Metropolitan Board of Commissioners. Richard was an employee of the Town of Benton as Town Supervisor. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Amber Sullivant; brother, Sterling Sullivant and sister, Alicia Torrance. Richard is survived by his wife, Carole Sullivant; son, Curry G. Sullivant and daughter, Stephanie Sullivant-Collier and husband, Steve Collier all of Benton, LA; sisters, Jean Sooter of Antioch, CA, Donna Williams of Merced, CA and Carol Heger of Houston, TX; brothers, Jerry Sullivant of Bossier City, LA, Jim Sullivant of Arkansas City, KS and Hal McSpadden of Midland, TX; 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Honoring him as pallbearers will be members of Bossier Parish Fire District Four. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Philip, Jerry, Brandon, Kade, Casey and Corey. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association.
