Richard loved God, his wife, his farm and horses, the Dallas Cowboys and Notre Dame football team, in that order.
Richard and Martha enjoyed sailing around the British Virgin Islands in the summer for several years before moving to DeSoto Parish, where they established a small horse farm they named Dreamcatcher. They enjoyed many hours of trail riding with friends and traveling in their RV with their great friends Billy and Libby Barbee. Richard enjoyed working on the farm and learning how to do all the things a landowner must do to keep the property in good shape. He enjoyed volunteering at GREAT, a therapeutic horse riding facility in Greenwood, LA.
Richard was a lector, chairman of the Finance Committee, and an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist at St. George Catholic Church in Coushatta, LA. His faith, and particularly his church family at St. George, was very important to him.
Rosary and visitation is at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rambin, LA, at 6 p.m. Friday, November 25. A mass of celebration of Richard's life will is at St. Mary's church on Saturday, November 26 at 11 a.m. with Father Joseph Ampatt, pastor of St. George Catholic Church of Coushatta, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Mary's House of LA, Inc., 906 Margaret Place, Shreveport, LA 71101.
