Rita Lynn Lowrey

Shreveport, LA - Funeral services for Rita Lynn Lowrey, 57, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Rev. Larry Tucker will officiate. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rita was born on May 14, 1958 in Lake Charles, LA to Samuel E. Lowrey and Barbara L. Hay Lowrey and passed away in Round Rock, TX on August 15, 2015. After graduating from Woodlawn High School she worked at several places before finding her home for 26 years at Overton Brooks V.A. Medical Center. Her main interest and hobby was cross-stitching and reading. Rita was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara; Those left to cherish her memory are her father, Samuel Lowery; brothers, Fred Lowrey and Sam Lowrey and wife, Cynthia; sister, Barbara Chandler and husband, Darryl; nieces, Lindsey Massoni and husband, Ralph, Erin Joslin and husband, Scott, Erin Cannon and husband, Brian; nephews, Joshua Sexton and wife, Kellie, Dustin Chandler and wife, Katie and Daniel Chandler; grand-nieces, Tiffany Young, Alivia Young, Lunden Massoni, Madelaine Sexton; grand-nephews, Christian Sexton, Brooks Massoni and Dylan Cannon. The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to all of the ICU doctors, nurses and staff at St. David's Hospital in Round Rock, TX and to Rita's special friends, Sabrina, Kim and George who took such good care of her and for all the love and support they gave. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
