Funeral services for Rita Rebecca Gamble Toupin, 74, will be held on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport Louisiana. A visitation will be held Sunday, July 25, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Brother Randy Johnson, pastor of Countryside Baptist Church and Brother Bill Kincaid, assistant pastor of Baptist Tabernacle.
Rita was born on December 27, 1946 to Ashton Wagner Gamble and Mary Bell McClure Gamble in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021 in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Rita was a resident of Shreveport and a homemaker. She was the greatest baker of buttermilk pies. She was very friendly and talkative. Rita never met a stranger and was always prepared to make you laugh. Her children and grandchildren were the greatest joy in her life. She was a member of Baptist Tabernacle for 30 years, previously a member of Berean Baptist Temple for 16 years.
Rita is preceded in death by her father, Ashton Gamble; mother, Mary Bell Hall; brother, Sam Gamble; sister, Rose Harris; son-in-law, Glenn Futch; and nephew, Thomas Terrill. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Gary Toupin; daughters, Cassandra Futch, Mary Spake and husband, Michael; son, Henry Toupin; grandchildren, Gary Futch and wife, Victoria, Gabrielle Eakin, Nick Futch, Rebecca Bennett and husband, Hayden, Tyler Spake, Russel Graves, Hailee Stevens and husband, Brandon; great-grandchildren, Harrison Bennett, Oliver Stevens and Amelia Bennett.
Honoring Rita as pallbearers will be Michael Spake, Nick Futch, Timothy Terrill, Hayden Bennett, Russel Graves, Tyler Spake and Brandon Stevens.
The family would like to express special thanks to Willis-Knighton Pierremont 4th, 7th and 8th floor nurses for the wonderful care given to our mother during her time there. Also thanks to the staff at Heritage Manor Stratmore and Cornerstone Specialty Hospital for all their care and compassion given to our mother. And we can't thank Fresenius Dialysis enough for the wonderful care given to our mother for the last ten years. Everyone was such a blessing to us.
