Funeral services for Robert Wayne "Bobby" Barron, 71, will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 10:00am in the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel, Mansfield, LA. Bro. John New man and Bro. Jimmy Price will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from 5-9pm.
He lost his courageous fight with cancer on Monday, April 13, 2015. He passed away peace fully with his family by his side. Bobby was born on November 1, 1943. He was a lifelong resident of Mansfield and served the community in his 37year career as a lineman for CLECO.
He is survived by his wife of 49yrs, Jerry Mitchell Barron, two daughters, Pam Craig and husband Kenneth, Kim Davis and hus band Joey. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Tyler and Kaylie Craig, Tiffany Barron and SaraBeth Davis all of Frierson. He is also, survived by one brother, Roy Lee Barron and wife Gay, of Whitehouse, TX. He was loved by a host of nieces and nephews, lifelong friends and coworkers of CLECO.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Gladys Barron; brothers Arthur L. Barron, David Barron, Thomas "Jake" Barron, and sister Helen Shaw.
Honoring him as pallbearers will be his line crew from CLECO; Mike Walding, Terry Cobb, Greg Faust, Brent McConathy, George Strickland, Bo Calhoun, Lee Garrett, Mike McConathy, Timbo Crooks, Ronnie Free and Brian Melton.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN in honor his granddaughter, Kaylie.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Richard Kamm, Dr. Bob Martin, Dr. Scott Bonial and Dr. Roscoe Chan, as well as, the staff of Christus Highland PCU, The Cancer Center and Lifecare Hospitals. With a special thanks to Sister Suny Augustine.
