Robert (Bob) Noble English

Robert (Bob) Noble English, 79, died peacefully in Shreveport, Louisiana, on Sunday, July 28, 2024, surrounded by family. He was diagnosed with Leukemia in May of this year. Due to other illnesses, his body just could not handle the chemotherapy treatment.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Rd., Bossier City, Louisiana at 10:00 a.m., where he will be buried with full Military Honors. A reception will follow. Officiating the service will be Dr. Gevan Spinney, Pastor of First Baptist Church Haughton. 

Bob was born in Robeline, Louisiana in 1945 to George Carlisle English and Margaret Ester English Shepard. He moved to Shreveport where he attended Fair Park High School. After graduating High School, he enrolled in the United States Army, where he served in the 173rd Airborne Separate (319) Field Artillery Regiment. He was based in Saigon, Vietnam. According to a newspaper article from November 23, 1965, Bob and his comrades saw several successful combat missions. After leaving the Army he went to work for Melton Truck Lines as a dispatcher and after approximately 25 years went to work for Tango Trucking, until his retirement in 2015.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and wife of 42 years, Delia LaSaundra Watson English. He is survived by his three children, Lynda English Huffman, husband, Woodie of Shreveport, Louisiana, and their five children, Mackenzie Rene, Lyssa Gabrielle, Spencer Edward, Macyn Danielle, and Mikayla Elizabeth; his son, Robert Eugene English of Benton, wife, Angelica of Benton, Louisiana, and their daughter, Savannah Grace; his son, James Shannon English and wife, Courtney of Haughton, Louisiana, and their two children, Celia Morgan and Wyatt Stetson.

The family would sincerely like to thank the nurses and staff at Willis Knighton North who provided excellent care and compassion for him during his last days.
