Robert Edwin Cummings

Shreveport, LA - Robert Edwin Cummings age 49, passed away on February 4, 2020 in Bossier City, Louisiana. Mr. Cummings was born to Jimmy Darrel Cummings and Nita Joan Bryant on December 3, 1970 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Mr. Cummings was a resident of the ARC of Acadiana Northwest, formally known as Northwest Louisiana Development Center, located on Shed Road in Bossier City, Louisiana. He moved to this facility at the age of 4 and quickly became a friend to all - employees and residents. He enjoyed the activities the Center provided and was always excited when outside activities were scheduled. As he became less able to enjoy the outside, he still looked forward to viewing from his window. And he always enjoyed visits from family and friends. Mr. Cummings was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joshua Emerson; grandparents, Bob and Opal Cummings, Joe and Johnnie Bryant. He is survived by his aunts, Barbara and husband Gene Belcher, and Joyce Joiner; brother, Jacob Emerson wife Sammie Jo; cousins, Jamie Beene husband Thomas, Joanna Shamburger husband Michael; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Oaklawn Memorial Park, 1552 State Highway 7 E, Center, TX 75935. Brother Curtis Spears will be officiating the service.
