Graveside funeral services for Mr. Robert Reginald "Reggie" Gunn, 78, who entered into rest on Sunday, May 27, 2018, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Jena, La, with Davis H. Wiggins II officiating.
Mr. Gunn, the widower of Wanda Lawrence Gunn, was born in Columbia, La. on January 22, 1940. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert G. Gunn and Ruby Crain Gunn. Robert graduated from Dry Prong High School and played basketball at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas. Mr. Gunn retired from the Gould Battery Plant as a lineman.
He is survived by a brother, Jimmy L. Gunn and sister-in-law, Irene Gunn. Mr. Gunn is also survived by his three nieces, Monica Ann Wiggins and husband, Davis Wiggins II, Elizabeth E. Courtney and Kimberly S. Evans; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Honoring Robert as pallbearers are Greg Lawrence, Charles Lowder, Keith Burton, and Mason Courtney. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his brother Jimmy L. Gunn and his life-time friend Leonard R. "Pop" Hataway.
Special thanks to so many staff members at Willis-Knighton Pierremont Health Center for their care and support. Also thanks to Aime Hospice Care for their care and compassion given to him. Robert was very grateful for his friends and neighbors that expressed their love and prayers when he became ill.
