SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services celebrating Clyde Hargrove's life will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at St. Mark's Cathedral, 908 Rutherford St. Shreveport, LA 71104. Officiating will be Dean Alston Johnson and Cathedral Clergy. Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent. Visitation with the family will be on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Marshall St.
Clyde Hargrove, 62, was an extraordinary person. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin and friend. Most of all, Clyde was universally loved and respected by everyone he touched. Blessed with a fertile and creative mind, Clyde was an accomplished musician, photographer, chef and a consummate comedian. Clyde always left you laughing and made routine events hilarious life long memories.
Clyde's plethora of talents were all noteworthy, but it was his magic ability to make and maintain lifelong friendships that is his most enduring characteristic and legacy. Clyde never stopped thinking about the needs of others. Clyde shared. If you loved Clyde, he loved you back.
Clyde was a lifelong resident of Shreveport. Graduating high school from Sewanee Military Academy in 1973. Clyde was honored as the most accomplished student in school. Clyde attended LSU, becoming a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity until his transfer in 1975 to the University of Texas where he earned a degree in Radio, Television and Film. He never wavered in his lifelong commitment to the Longhorns. In 1977 Clyde returned to Shreveport where he began a 14 year career as an independent oil and gas man.
In 1991 he joined A.G. Edwards as a financial advisor. In 2005 he was recruited by Morgan Stanley to lead their Shreveport office. He became lead advisor for Wells Fargo in 2014. Clyde was a past President of The Cotillion Club, a member of The Mystic Knights of the Sea, as well as a proud member of Chevaliers du Tastevin. He also was a member of The Road Dogs, and his BBQ group Pork Fiction. He co-founded the band The Hubcaps, which lasted 35 years.
Clyde was preceded in death by his father, Joseph L. Hargrove, his mother, Martha Dean Hargrove Glassell, and his sister-in-law, Nancy Green Hargrove. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Lisa Allen Hargrove, and his children, Clyde Hargrove III and wife Rebecca, Lauren Etier and husband Brian, Billy Hargrove and wife Kelly and Mae Hargrove and her special friend Whit O'Brien; and by his wonderful and adorable grandchildren: John, Allen, Andy, Nola, Campbell and Charlotte; brothers, Joe L. Hargrove and Kemerton Hargrove and wife Gayla; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and his Aunt Ada Grundy. He is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Wanda Allen and sister-in-law Kayla Lescure and husband Stephane, brothers-in-law, Jody Allen and wife Kayla and Ray Allen and all of their children.
Honoring Clyde as pallbearers will be Ryan Bicknell, Kix Brooks, Stafford Comegys, David Davis, Bickham Dickson, Gil Goodrich, Walker Innis, Kevin Long, Michael Long, Chris Martin, Robert Poindexter, Bucky Schober, and Stewart Slack. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Hank Anderson, Greg Barro, Trey Baucum, Whitney Boggs, Paul Broussard, Joel Chevalier, Tom Colquitt, Jay Davis, David Dethloff, George Fritze, Jeffery Goodman, John Howe, Mark Hudson, Randy Mulkey, Bill Overdyke, John Pickens, Chris Prothro, Lang Wedgeworth, Joe Whitaker, and Stephen White.
Clyde would like to thank Cora Martin, Robert Jack and Larry Dewitt for their years of friendship and service.

Clyde will be missed, but mostly Clyde will be celebrated for his humor, caring and generosity.
