Celebration of Life service for Mr. Robert "Bob" Lee Land Sr., 87, will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 22, 2014, in the Rose-Neath Coushatta Chapel with Brother McKee Williams of First Southern Methodist Church, Stonewall, LA, and Brother Oscar Saffel officiating. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Weaver Cemetery, Campti, LA under the direction of Rose-Neath Coushatta. The family would like the opportunity to welcome guests before the service, beginning at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 22, 2014, in the Rose-Neath Coushatta Chapel, Coushatta, LA. Mr. Land was born February 25, 1927, in Chopin, LA, to the late Ece Land and Harriet Dona Beebe Land Rachal and was called to his Heavenly home in Shreveport, LA, on July 19, 2014. He retired from Red Ball Motor Freight following thirty years of dedicated service as a truck driver. During his entire working career, Mr. Land carried a nearly perfect driving record. He was a guide on Black Lake, enjoyed fishing; gardening and you could say he had one heck of a green-thumb. Mr. Land always enjoyed spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren. He loved his family and will be remembered for the jokes he always enjoyed telling. Mr. Land was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Sheree Burns; one grand-daughter, Melissa Risinger; step-father, Gus Rachal, Sr.; one brother, Claude Rachal and one sister, Janice Rachal. Left to cherish the beautiful memories of Mr. Robert L. "Bob" will be his beloved wife of forty-four years, Mrs. Gladie Merlee Speir Stewart Land; two sons: Robert Lee Land Jr. and wife Beverly and Eddie Merle Stewart; one daughter, Donna Renee' Land; two brothers: Clyde Rachal and wife Jean and Gus Rachal, Jr. and wife Audrey; four sisters: Helen Martin, Betty Slayton, Linda Foster and husband Jessie and Elaine Sandel and husband Robert, many grand and great-grandchildren, numerous extended family members and many wonderful friends. Honoring Mr. Robert L. "Bob" as pallbearers will be Robert Martin, James Slayton, Lee Wise, Richard Risinger, Toya Luce and Robert Foster.
