Robert "Bob" Alfred Ogburn

Funeral services for Robert Alfred Ogburn, 80, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2018 at Oakmont Church of God with Bro. Doyce Smith and Bro. David Radford officiating. Interment will follow at Summer Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the church. Robert was born September 30, 1937 in Shreveport, LA and went to be with the Lord on April 13, 2018 at his home, surrounded by family and friends. He worked as a bread salesman for 40 years. Robert (Bob) was a joyful man who found a way to laugh in any situation. He loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, his home church, Oakmont Church of God, and he dearly loved his family. He enjoyed singing on Monday nights at Summerfield, and he was also a dedicated Cowboy's fan. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Logus and Myrtle Ogburn; brother, Melvin Ogburn; and sisters, Joyce Harrison and Janie Huddleston. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joan Ogburn; children, Richard Ogburn, Darlene Ogburn, Michelle Haws Rocchi (Massimo), and Ina Haws Mayberry (Robbie); grandchildren, Lyndell, Nika, Drew, Blake, Megan, Rosie, Andrew (Brittany), Getty (Meagan), Hazel, and Desiree; and great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Dakota, Leland, and Sammy Elizabeth. Pallbearers will be Lyndell Procell, Andrew Mayberry, Getty Mayberry, Duane Huddleston, Richie Kilpatrick, and Noah Harmon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oakmont Church of God or North DeSoto Church of God. The family would like to give a special thanks to Kristan, Stephanie, and Eileen for their care.
