Robert Otis Moore was born on July 19, 1944, to Robert Edward Moore and Ora Lee Boatright Moore. He was baptized at the age of nine at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church. In March 2014, he was baptized at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where he worshiped with his wife, Annie, with whom he was united in marriage on November 4, 1991.
After graduating from Booker T. Washington High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served most of his tour in Okinawa, Japan.
Everyone one who knew him called him “Moto”. He never met a stranger. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling with the family. On a special note, every Sunday, he would tease the late Leroy Wesley known to Moto as “Baby Bro”.
Moto was known best for his faithfulness in visiting the sick and shut in “Daily”. He had a list with everyone’s hospital location and room numbers. If you needed to know anything about someone who was sick you could call Moto.
After serving his country he went to California and worked as a surveyor for a gas company. He returned to Louisiana and attended Louisiana Tech University. Robert worked at South Central Bell in Shreveport as a switchboard operator and a lineman. After leaving South Central Bell, he was employed with Green Welding where he was responsible for delivering oxygen and nitrogen gas to local medical facilities. Robert last employment before retirement was as an offshore boat captain.
He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Annie LaCour-Moore; brother, Freddie Moore (Gwen) of Houston Texas, Gary Moore and wife of Shreveport; uncle, Ralph Turner, Sr.; brother-in-law, Sylvester LaCour (LaWaunda); sisters-in-law, Sylvia LaCour-Willliams and Nancy Moore; aunt, Earthlena Moore Wilson and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Edward Moore & Ora Lee Boatright Moore; brother, Joseph W. Moore and sister, Annie Lee Pouncy.
