Blake Patterson Robert Blake Patterson, 76, passed away Friday, September 25, 2015 at his home in Bossier City, Louisiana. Blake was born April 10, 1939 to Robert A. and Athlyn (VanArsdel) Patterson in Shreveport, Louisiana, the older of two children. He attended Lake Charles High School. After high school Blake served in the Marine Corps. He then met his lovely bride, Virginia Roberta Chitty, while attending college at Northeast Louisiana State College. They were married in September, 1963. In 1964, Blake began a long career in finance and sales - briefly in Alexandria, LA but soon moving to Shreveport - working at Associates Financial, First National Bank, and Chevyland, among other firms. Blake loved to spend time with his friends. He also enjoyed jogging, reading, Westerns, and sporting events. In later years Blake spent time volunteering at Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport. Blake is survived by his sister, Marinelle Dyer; sons, Bryan and Brad; grandchildren, William, Isaac, and Finley; and ex-wife, Ginger. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home at 1815 Marshall Street at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, LA. The family will greet friends from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday before the funeral service at Rose-Neath.
