Robert Lee Procella

SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Robert Lee Procella, age 70, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel. Interment will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Rd., Bossier City, LA. Visitation will be Tuesday, 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Robert was born July 03, 1947, in Shreveport, LA to Woodrow and Salley Procella and received his invitation from God on April 13, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Vernice Humphrey, Rachel Rogers and Mary Edwards. He is survived by his son, Robert Woodrow Procella; his granddaughter, Karmyn Gracie Procella; his brother, Pete Procella; and his sisters, Sally Leonardos and Shirley Domeier. Robert graduated from North Caddo High School in 1965, and afterward joined the United States Marine Corps to serve in the Vietnam War, where he was stationed at I - Corps, near the DMZ. On May 25, 1967, he was severely wounded in action in a firefight in the GioLinh District and disabled, but survived and was eventually honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant (E5). He was awarded the Purple Heart Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Star, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with device. He returned to work and attended to LSU, Shreveport where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the College of Business Administration and became the plant manager of Red River Box. Robert's favorite hobby was playing pool. At his favorite pool halls he was affectionately known as "Chief." Robert had a generous, loving spirit, and was admired and respected by everyone who knew him. Pallbearers will be Brian Davidson, Luke Davidson, Jeff Criswell, Brian Domeier, Lance Rogers, and Jimmy Lee Rogers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard Prewitt and Bobby Garza.
