Robert Dane Rich

Arcadia - Funeral services will be held for Robert Dane Rich "RD", age 93, at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia. Rev. Jon Lord will officiate. Interment will follow at Arcadia Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday. Robert Dane Rich "RD" was born on June 8, 1923, and passed away on August 15, 2016 in Arcadia. RD was raised in Arcadia. He graduated from Arcadia High School where he was an outstanding athlete and a member of the 1940 football championship team. He was a local business man and a member of the First United Methodist Church where he served on the board of directors. RD was a decorated WWII vet. He was a family man and always enjoyed seeing his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Annie and Elmo Rich, brother Slayton Rich, sisters Nollie Ward, Anna Merrill Rogers, Sis Hodges and Lurie Rich, and by his beloved wife Betty Virginia Jones Rich. He is survived by his two sons Carroll D. Rich and wife Leesa, their children Chelsea Rich and Catherine Norris and husband Blake; Robert (Al) Rich and wife Brenda, their children Ashlea LeFranc and husband Jared, (Mahalie, Lexi and Jay), Christy Guidry and husband Caleb, Slayton ("Slayte") and Virginia Lea Rich, by his sister-in-law Ena Margaret Martin and by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
