A Memorial Service for Robert "Bob" Leroy Riggins, 70, will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. Officiating will be Reverend Beth Sentell.
Bob was born January 1, 1951 in King City, Missouri to Edward Riggins and Leeola Steinman Riggins, and passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021 in Bentonville, Arkansas.
Bob graduated from Albany, Missouri High School in 1969, and attended the University of Missouri, where he was a member of the Farmhouse Fraternity. He was married to Glenda Wesselmann in 1972, and divorced in 1984. Then married Joan Reinert March 24, 1988, until her passing on July 18, 2017. Bob worked for John Deere in Sedalia, Missouri, and in Bossier City, Louisiana. Following his employment at John Deere he worked for Mango Equipment Company, and Scott Equipment Companies. Bob was proud to train and mentor many employees before he retired in 2013. Many described Bob as a big man with a big heart. He was always willing to offer his time and talent to his friend's projects or to those in need. He had a passion for cooking for those he loved, making sure all were well fed. His favorite pastimes included fishing, camping and entertaining friends.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joan Riggins; sisters, Kathy Lynn Riggins and Ruth Ann Riggins. He is survived by his daughters, Amy Tucker and husband, Scott, Cynthia Cashman and husband, Ryan, Theresa Linski and husband, Matthew; son, Matthew Riggins; stepdaughter, Kristie Wilson and husband Chris; grandchildren, Mason Tucker, Carson Tucker, Samuel Cashman, Joseph Cashman, Elijah Cashman, Liliana Cashman, Carter Linski, Tate Linski, Ashton Wilson and fiancé, Angel; brother, William Riggins; sister, Elaine Donelson and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation may be made to The Providence House, 814 Cotton Street, Shreveport, Louisiana 71101.
