Robert Carson Sibley, Jr.

SHREVEPORT, LA - Memorial services for Robert "Bob" C. Sibley Jr. will be conducted at 10:00 AM Thursday, Sept.18, 2014 at Noel United Methodist Church Worship Center, 520 Herndon Rd., with Rev. JoAnn Cooper officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel.
Bob went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sept. 12, 2014 after a lengthy illness at the age of 54. He was born February 23, 1960 in Shreveport, LA. He graduated from Huntington High School and then Louisiana Tech University with a BS in Business. He worked for Allstate Insurance as a claims adjustor. Bob's lifelong passion was performing music and sharing his God given talent with anyone who was blessed to hear him. It was Bob's greatest desire to share his love of music by entertaining audiences all over the world by playing his saxophone along with a multitude of other instruments. He is known for his world-class musicianship. He began discovering music at a young age after being given a saxophone by his parents. He was able to grow this hobby into something much bigger, having opportunities to play for local events and even tour the US, Europe and the West Indies. He also used his talents to serve the less fortunate by giving free concerts for local charities. As he would put it, "giving is getting". He will always be remembered as "Boomer Bob". Not only was he a talented musician, but also used his cooking skills to share his love with his family, always ensuring an entertaining evening. We will all miss his undeniable talent for playing the saxophone, his sense of humor, and especially his loving presence.
Left to cherish his sweet memory is his loving wife of 15 years, Latonya Morrow Sibley; parents, Lolly and Carson Sibley, Sr.; sister, Cassie Sibley Werfal and husband, Jeff; brother, Andy Sibley and wife, Beth. He is also survived by his son, Robert Carson Sibley III and wife Katie and daughter, Anna Sibley.
Pallbearers will be Todd Stanberry, Travis Jordan, Richard Cox, Patony Morrow, Johnathan Andrews, Paul Metsger, Roger Barnes, and Dan Lohman.
The family would like to say a special thank you to all of his fellow musicians, friends, family, and loved ones. We appreciate your prayers, love and support throughout the time of his illness and for coming together to create Bob's War Chest Music Fest. You helped orchestrate a truly magical event in his honor. Contributions can still be made to Robert C. Sibley savings account at any Regions Bank location.
