SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Robert Eugene "Bobby" Tims will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Salem Baptist Church in Stonewall, LA. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 5th at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home. Bro. Nick Roberson and Bro. Robert Baker, Jr., Ret. Lt. Col. Chaplain, will be officiating.
Bobby, was born July 2, 1957 and passed away Monday, April 3rd after a five year battle with cancer. If courage and patience can be attributed to anyone who had to endure such a devastating illness, Bobby Tims became a model. He was born the son of Virgil L. Tims of Coushatta, Louisiana and Anginita Pugh Tims of Noble, Louisiana. Bobby's life objective was to be a farmer and fortunately spent the last productive years of his life on the Baker Farm in Stonewall, LA.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Virgil L. Tims. He is survived by his mother, Anginita Tims; his loving wife of 5 ½ years, Rebecca B. Tims; sons, Robert Gene Tims and wife, Sheena, and James Thomas Tims and wife, Nicole; stepson, John Thompson and wife, Lauren; stepdaughter, Lauren Leigh Thompson; nine grandchildren; brothers, DeWayne "P'Nut" Tims and Bretta, and Scotty Tims and wife, Brandi; sister, Ramona Ewing and husband, Donnie; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The Tims and Baker families want to express special appreciation to Bobby's caregivers during his lengthy illness. Doctors Chintapalli, Chan, and Burgin along with the staff and volunteers of Christus Schumpert Highland Cancer Center.
An elder at Living Water Worship Center, Woolworth Road, in Stonewall, LA, he lived his life as a devoted Christian with thanks to Almighty God for his everlasting love.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials may be made to Living Water Worship Center, Samaritan's Purse or to Sibley United Methodist Church Ramp Ministry.
