Roger Baird

Arcadia - Graveside services will be held for Roger Glenn Baird, age 72, at 3:00 p.m. Friday, at New Bethel Cemetery. Rev. Stephen Beard will officiate. Roger was born October 25, 1947 in Dodson, Texas to Ruther and Rosalie Baird. He entered into rest on June 16, 2020 in Arcadia, Louisiana. Roger proudly served his country with the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a long-time resident of Arcadia and retired from Haynes International. Roger enjoyed building and woodworking and loved to hunt. Roger was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, he will be greatly missed by all. Roger is preceded in death by his parents Ruther and Rosalie Baird, grandson Remington Grissom, and by sisters Sylvia Coggins and Ludie Vaughan. He is survived by his loving wife Deborah Fisher Baird, son Justin Baird, daughter Alisha Grissom and husband Wayne, who was more like a son. He is also survived by his sister Linda Shinnick, grandchildren Jayce Grissom and Lariat McCoy, and by numerous other nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
