Roland R. Gills

Funeral services for Roland R. Gills will be held Friday, March 3, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, Louisiana with Bro. Mike Wilkes and Bro. Curtis Epnett officiating. Interment will follow at Whispering Pines Cemetery in Minden, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana.

Roland was born March 22, 1944, in Gurdon, Arkansas and entered into rest February 28, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Roland served his country in the United States Army. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He spent many years at the dirt track in the past. He was a long-time faithful member of Whispering Pines Missionary Baptist Church in Minden, LA where he taught Sunday School and B.T.C. for over 50 years.

He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Jo Gills; brother, Rodney Gills; sister, Katherine Perry; and parents, Ira Chester and Nina Pugh Gills.

He is survived by his daughters, Rachel Wortham (Eric) of Bossier City and Robin Hughes (Bryan) of Benton; twin brother, Ronald Gills (Gina) of League City, TX; grandchildren Stefanie Haddenham (Michael), Ashleigh Hughes, and Bryce Hughes; and great-grandchildren, Blaine Mobley, Broox Mobley, Brant Mobley, Lariah Lind, Skobi Haddenham and Riley Haddenham.
