Ronald A. Cummings, Sr.

A “Celebration of Life” Memorial Service for Ronald “Ronnie” Arlin Cummings, 76, will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Bro. Luke Bissell.

Ronnie was born on September 7, 1948 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Bernice and Hazel Cummings and passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at home in Grand Cane, Louisiana.

Ronnie was a resident of Grand Cane. He worked as a truck driver for 43 years. His hobbies included fishing, working on cars, and he loved camping with his grandchildren. He married his wife, Gretna, on September 13, 1969 and later retired in 2011.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernice and Hazel; and his brother, Albert. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Gretna; daughter, Rhonda Jeffcoat; son, Ronald, Jr. and wife, Sheri; grandchildren, Tyler, Brandon, Nicholas, Ashley, and Kayla; sister, Mary Nichols and her husband, Rodney; nieces and nephews, John Nichols and wife, Jaimee, Michael Cummings and wife, Tiffany, Christy Boethel and husband, Carl, Angela Braley and husband, Alonzo, Garvis, Jr., Coby, Joey, Denise, Roger Lynn, Patrick, Doug, and Jason Bibby; and brother-in-law, Garvis Holman.

The family would like to express special thanks to hospice nurses Monica and Angela and CNA’s, Mrs. DeLois Williams and family, and Brenda. They did a wonderful job caring for Ronnie with love, respect, and compassion.
