Ronnie Lee Kendrick

Funeral services for Ronnie Lee Kendrick “Cap,” 81, will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport. A visitation will be held Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Chaplain Michael Perser of the Shreveport Fire Department.

Ronnie was born on December 17, 1942, in Shreveport, Louisiana to George and Doris Kendrick and passed away Monday, August 26, 2024, in Shreveport. Ronnie was a resident of Shreveport and spent his career working with the Shreveport Fire Department. He retired as a Deputy Chief where he dedicated 35 years to serving his community with integrity and courage. His commitment to his work was only surpassed by his deep love for his family.

Ronnie graduated from Fair Park High School. He was a lover of the outdoors. He found joy in deer and duck hunting, fishing and golfing. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was married to the love of his life for 64 years, Linda Kendrick.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, George and Doris Kendrick. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Linda; daughters, Debbie Newman, Deanna Collins and husband, Micheal; grandchildren, Katie Newman, Esthman Newman and wife, Chrissy, and Micheala Collins; sister, Charlotte Bertrand and husband, Don; and cousin, Larry Arnold and wife, Lani.

Honoring Ronnie as pallbearers will be Lewis Reavis, Shane Swilley, Carl Harris, Tommie Marshall, Clay Reavis, and Trae Futrell. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Micheal Collins, Larry Arnold, Cecil Gates, Bobby Cannon, Steve Woodley, and the Mercer Deer Camp.
