Rosa Gurden

A funeral service honoring the life of Rosa Merendino Gurden will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana. Visitation will be held Monday, August 2, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Officiating the service will be Father Raney Johnson of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Interment will immediately follow the service in Forest Park Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Ave., Shreveport, Louisiana. Rosa Merendino Gurden was born February 13, 1924 in Dallas, Texas to Toney and Josephine Merendino and passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones, Thursday, July 29, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, James E. Gurden; and brother, Billy Anthony Merendino. Left to cherish her memory are her niece, Donna Marie Merendino; nephews, Thomas Anthony Merendino and wife, Dianna and Joseph Patrick Merendino; sister-in-law, Shirley Merendino; and a host of grand and great-grand nephews and a great-grandniece. Honoring Rosa as pallbearers will be Jerry Y. Davis, Andrew C. Lackman, Joseph P. Merendino, Stephen P. Merendino, Thomas A. Merendino, and Allen R. Sepulvado. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Charles Lizyness.
