Rosalyn "Rose" Arlene Kennedy

Rosalyn Arlene Kennedy “Rose” went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 90, on Sunday, March 23, 2025, just one day short of her 91st birthday, at her home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, with the funeral service at noon and a graveside service at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Rd., Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating the services will be Dr. John Bodine and Reverend Tommy Patton of Cypress Baptist Church.

Rose was born March 24, 1934, at Barksdale Air Force Base to William and Audrey Lofley. Her father was a master sergeant stationed at Barksdale at the time of her birth. She grew up as your typical military kid, living in the Philippines until age nine, upon the death of her father. She and her mother moved back to Shreveport, where she later attended Fair Park High School. Rose met her high school sweetheart, Don. They were married for 67 years until Don died in 2018. Rose worked for AT&T, where she retired after 25 years as a supervisor in 1987. She cherished the later years with family and devoted her life to be a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Kennedy; parents, William and Audrey Lofley, and brother, William Lofley, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Debra McGaha; son, Doug Kennedy; granddaughters, Natalie Bomar, and husband, Jeff of Shreveport, LA and her great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Grayson and Sutton, Hannah and Taylor Kennedy and Madison of Alabama.

Honoring Rose as pallbearers will be Jeff Bomar, Grayson Bomar, Kevin Jones, Ken Bazzell, Beau Claborn, and Joel Evans.

The family would like to give special thanks to Bristol Hospice of Northwest Louisiana, Helping Hands Caregivers, and Benton-Bossier Rescue for their tireless efforts.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the American Dementia/Alzheimer Organizations, www.donorservices.alz.org, or a charity of your choosing.
