Rose Therese Anderson Gatti, 69, of Many, Louisiana passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024. She was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on December 14, 1954 to Weldon B. Anderson and Cleta McCormic Anderson. A rosary will be held at 10:30 a.m. on May 18, 2024 at St. John Catholic Church in Many, Louisiana. A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. with an inurnment to follow at St. John Cemetery.
Rose’s working life revolved around numbers. She was a bookkeeper for the clinic for many years, and later for St. John’s Catholic Church, where she was a highly active member. She worked for the water department reading meters and the Census Bureau. Rose was well known for saying the Rosary before Saturday masses and her banana pudding.
After raising her three children, Rose became a world traveler. She started in the States visiting Florida with her daughters, then to Branson, Missouri with her traveling buddies, Barbara Peterson and Barbara Snell. She then went on to travel to Canada and Europe seeing sights like Vatican City, Rome, Stone Henge, and the Scottish Highlands, with her favorite being Edinburgh Castle.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patricia Ann Quayhagen; brother, John Weldon Anderson; sisters-in-law, Ruth Anderson and MaryAnn Anderson; brother-in-law, Ron Musser; and nephew, Michael Mancil. She is survived by her husband, Michael T. Gatti Sr.; son, Michael “Beau” Gatti and wife, DeShae of Flower Mound, Texas; daughters, Rachel Plaisance and husband, Chris, of Many, Louisiana and Alexandra Walsh, and husband, Charlie, of Florien, Louisiana; sisters, Margaret Basco and husband, Darien, Mary Musser, and Lou Mancil and husband, Mike, all of Many, Louisiana; brothers, David Anderson of Slidell, Louisiana and Ray Anderson of Lacombe, Louisiana; brother-in-law, Jim Quayhagen of Many, Louisiana; grandchildren, Rebecca and husband, Hunter, Andrew, Patrick, Matthew, and Logan; and an abundance of well-loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
