Bossier City, LA - Rose Elizabeth Marsiglia of Bossier City went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 10, 2014 at the age of 91. She was born on September 17, 1923. She lived in Bossier City her entire life. Rose was united in marriage to Phillip Marsiglia on July 21st, 1941. He preceded her in death on August 16, 2003.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, October 13, 2014 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City with a vigil to follow at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at St. Jude Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father Pike Thomas. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery, Haughton, LA.
Rose was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, and she was a member of the Immaculate Conception Society. She owned and operated several convenience stores before she retired. Together she and her husband owned and operated Food Town in the 1950's, B&B Grocery in Benton in the 1960's-70's and J&M Food Mart in Bossier City from 1975-1999. She was very close to her three children and she loved to spend time with friends. She was not one to sit at home. She loved to be out and about. After retirement she enjoyed playing dominoes with family members at least once a week. She was very grateful to have nieces who went out of their way to spend time with her. Rose spent two years living at the Glenview Independent Living Home where she made many new friends in the latter part of her life. She was able to spend quality time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was blessed to have a long and happy life. She will be missed by many friends and family members.
In addition to her parents and husband preceding her in death are 4 brothers and 4 sisters. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Rosalyn and Jerry Juneau, Phil and Phyllis Marsiglia, and Patricia and Bubba Hassell. Grandchildren: Jerry Juneau, Jr., Julie Gaydos and husband Matt, Summer West and husband Billie, Morgan Evans, Robin Weiland and husband Evan, Ashley Wynn and husband Tim. Great grandchildren: Jerry Juneau, III, Peyton and Brady Gaydos, Sophia and Will West, Savannah Rossett, Trenton and Kason Weiland, and Hunter Wynn.
Pallbearers will be Greg Ebarb, Matt Gaydos, Jerry Juneau, Jr., Chris Marsiglia, Sam Marsiglia, Evan Weiland, Billie West and Tim. Wynn.
