RoxAnn A. Kent

A memorial service celebrating the life of Mrs. RoxAnn Kent will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the Belle Park Baptist Church located at 13083 LA-157, Haughton, LA 71037. Bro. Ben Alderman will officiate. Mrs. Kent went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 13, 2020 in Bossier City, LA. She was born July 25, 1937 in New London, TX to Emma and Norvell Ashby. RoxAnn worked for many years at Steve's Cleaners in Haughton. After retiring, she enjoyed sewing, working in her yard, and birdwatching. RoxAnn was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a group she thoroughly enjoyed. Most of all she loved her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Kent was preceded in death by two wonderful husbands, James Ozy Bickley, and George Kent; young son, Johnny VanMeter; two sisters, Mary Allen, and Shorty Herring; and brother, Tommy Ashby. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Brenda Elmore, and Leanne Buchanan; son, Rick VanMeter; six grandchildren, Brian VanMeter, Angela Davis, Melissa Morrison, James Ben VanMeter, Chris Elmore, and Emma Ingram; 12 great-grandchildren, Jesse Ingram, Lane Ingram, Avery Elmore, Jake Elmore, Ashley Davis, Brittney Davis, Logan VanMeter, Miah VanMeter, Kristian Hall, Alexis Morrison, Isabelle VanMeter, and Jocelyn VanMeter; and two great-great-grandchildren, Jaydon Davis and Maliyah Bell.
