Roy James "Rusty" Peace, 72, entered into rest, suddenly, March 23, 2015. Roy is survived by his loving wife and soul mate, Carolyn Shumway Peace. Five children, Brian Peace, Lanessa Peace, Cambrie Peace, Cara Peace, and Cavin Peace. One step-daughter Dana Hartsfield. Grandchildren, Stacia, Lawson, Joi, Brooklyn, Britanie, Dalan, Gage, Aidan, and Breeanna. Great-grandchildren, DaKota and Tamsin. Two step-grandchildren, Christopher and Rebecca. Two brothers, John Peace and wife, Glenda, Thomas Peace. Sisters, Katie and husband, Bobby, Betty and husband, Joe.
Roy was born in Waskom, Texas on June 18, 1942. He served in the army in Korea and was a member of the national guard.
Roy enjoyed life to the fullest and was a very active and energetic outdoorsman who loved arrowhead hunting along with his fulltime employment at Best Pumpworks. He was a Mason, Yorkrite Bodies, Scottish rite, and Eastern Star Member.
Roy was a very special man who was loved by everyone who knew him because of his warm, loving and generous heart. He will be greatly missed by all - but by no one as much as his loving wife and soul mate, Carolyn, whose love for him will be never ending.
Family visitation will be Sunday, March 29, 2015 from 1-2 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel with military honors.
The family suggests that donations may be made to the Scottish rite Building Fund or Wounded Warrior Project in honor of Roy's name.
