Ruben Dale Liley 84, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Friday, February 7th, 2025.
Dale was best known for his love for the outdoors and his shenanigans at Toledo Bend Lake which sometimes involved his cannon.
Dale was born on December 12, 1940 in Lilbourn, Missouri. He graduated from Lilbourn High School in 1959 and joined the United States Navy where he served until his military retirement in 1989. He moved to Louisiana and resided in several places including Baton Rouge, Breaux Bridge, Carencro, and Arnaudville where he enjoyed his horses. He then moved to Toledo Bend where he lived for the rest of his days.
Dale is survived by his daughters, Sandra “Sandi” Scott and Barbara Lombrano; son, Roger Dale Liley; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; sister, Gloria Moss (Darryl); and several nieces and nephews.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Ruben Delmar Liley (Opal) and Dorothy Short (Louie); brothers, Wayne Liley and Joe Short; and his best friend and companion of 14 years – his dog, Tinkerbell.
Cremation has been entrusted to Rose Neath Funeral Home in Many, LA.
