Funeral services will be held for Ruby Faye Abercrombie, age 89, at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Rev. Tommy Davidson will officiate. Interment will follow at Hurricane Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Arcadia.
Ruby was born October 9, 1928, to Joe and Beatrice Fincher Chandler. She passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018 in Arcadia, after a lengthy illness. Ruby was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, and will be missed by all those that knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband John H. Abercrombie, sister Doris Keen, brother Ardis Chandler, step brother Joel Chandler and step sister Dorothy Dance.
She is survived by her children Sharalyn Pickett and husband Ken, Pat Abercrombie and Gerry Abercrombie, by 5 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and by her siblings Cloe Woodard, Johnnie Lear, Gloria Johnson and Peggy Hamel.
