Ruby Laverne Woods

Shreveport, La- A graveside service for Ruby Laverne Woods, 92, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Springridge Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana. Officiating will be Reverend Larry Tucker. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Ruby was born on August 28, 1922 to William Enoch and Justine Robbins Risher in Pelican, La. She passed away on March 9, 2015. She was a member at Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alva Woods, daughters, Ruby Darlene Woods, and Bonnie Gale Woods, and son, W.A. Woods. She is survived by brother-in-law, Jim Woods, sister-in-law, Judy Spain, numerous nieces and nephews, and special friend, Nelda Durante.
