Ruth L. Saucier

A graveside service for Ruth L. Saucier, 97, will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent. Officiating the service will be Deacon John Basco.

Ruth was born on May 9, 1926 in Ruston, Louisiana to E.J. and Lois Liner and passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

She was an active member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and enjoyed volunteering, traveling and playing cards. She devoted her life and love to her family and left us all with fond memories.

She is preceded in death by Philip J. Baracato, the father of her three children; second husband, Wiley J. Saucier, Jr.; three brothers, Alton Liner, Lester Liner and Earl Liner; one sister, Grace White and numerous brothers and sister-in-laws. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Greg Baracato and Gary Baracato; daughter, Gail Howell and husband, Tommy; three grandsons, Ben Baracato, Jeff Baracato and Phillip Baracato and wife, Ruth; two sisters, Mable Best and Pat Williamson; three bonus grandsons, Greg Howell, Wes Howell and wife, Taylor and Johnathan Howell and wife, Morgan and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at Amedysis and her sitters, Teri, Diane and Lois for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 522 E Flournoy Lucas Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana 71115.
