Sadie H. Franklin

Graveside services for Sadie Harris Franklin will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Bistineau Baptist Cemetery in Heflin, Louisiana under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana. Officiating will be her nephew Garry Knighton. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2014 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. Sadie was born July 19, 1931 to Rosie Lee Moore Harris and Waymon Harris in Shongaloo, Louisiana and passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014 in Shreveport, Louisiana at the age of 82 after a lengthy illness. Her parents, husband Johnny N. Franklin, brothers Willis Harold and William J. (J.W.) Harris, and sisters Louise Sugg, Bernice Cook, and Estelle Birch preceded her in death. She is survived by her sisters Geraldine (Dean) Duck and husband John of Cotton Valley, and Shirley Basham of Shreveport, special nieces Melanie Gibson and husband Brad, Anita Knighton and husband Garry of Mira, and Rose Ann Wise of Benton and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins and aunt Mary Moore of Hortman. The family would like to thank Drs.
