Sammy Byrd

Arcadia - Funeral services will be held for Sammy Byrd, age 74, at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia. Bro. James Lambert and Bro. Don Woodard will officiate. Interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. Sammy was born November 6, 1942, in Bryceland, LA to Hewett Harold Byrd and Lorene Baker Byrd. He passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017, in Ruston, LA. Sammy worked in the oilfield. He attended Temple Baptist Church in Ruston. He was dedicated to his precious daughters and loved his dogs. Sammy is preceded in death by his parents and by his brother James "Shot" Byrd. He is survived by his daughters Jennifer Byrd and husband Chuck Moore, Angela Anderson and Misty Byrd, grandchildren Ashleigh Anderson and Jacob Byrd, brothers Donnie Byrd and Robby Byrd and wife Betty, sister-in-law Carolyn Byrd and by numerous other nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Pallbearers will be Todd Byrd, Robby Lynn Byrd, Kirby Colvin, Jacob Byrd, Bart Mullins and Boyer Moore.
