Samuel Robert Conner

Funeral services for Mr. Samuel R. Conner age 81 will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2020 in the chapel of Rose-Neath Bossier Funeral Home. Father Rothell Price will officiate the service. Visitation will follow the service from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A private family burial will take place at Rose-Neath Cemetery. Mr. Conner passed away after a lengthy illness in Bossier City on Thursday, August 6, 2020. He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on September 14, 1938. Mr. Conner proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from BellSouth Telephone Company after 35 years of faithful service. After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, photography, and spending time with his family. Above everything else he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Mr. Conner was preceded in death by his parents, Grace and Emory Conner. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Janice "Cookie" Conner; son, Dwayne R. Conner and wife Dr. Nora Hanna; daughter, Danielle K. Freeman and husband Kevin; four grandchildren, Dakota Conner, Caitlyn Conner, Ethan Freeman, and Baylie Freeman; brother, David Conner and wife Linda; and sister, Gloria Carter and husband Charles.
