Funeral services honoring the life of Samuel Carl Grubbs, Jr. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Brother Dale Sauls. A visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will immediately follow the service in Forest Park Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road, Shreveport, Louisiana.
Samuel Carl Grubbs, Jr. was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on November 26, 1926 to parents Samuel C. Grubbs, Sr. and Sarah Woodyard Grubbs and passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020.
Samuel proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II and was present during the signing of the surrender at Tokyo Bay. He was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Blanchard, Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Parker Gay; second wife, Virginia Wasson Grubbs; stepson, Clayton Paul Pecory, Sr.; stepdaughter, Pamela McGaha and step-grandson, Dylan Randal Foster.
Samuel is survived by wife, Janice Grubbs; son, Sam Grubbs, III and wife, Patricia; stepdaughters, Kathryn Finley and husband, Thomas, Debbie Foster and husband, Randy; daughter-in-law, Martha Kimball Pecory; sister-in-law, Georgia Kleinhenz; grandchildren, Michael Grubbs, Samuel Grubbs, IV, Benjamin Grubbs, Julie Rambin and husband, Jon, Lisa James and husband, Justin and Paul Pecory and wife, Amy; step-grandchildren, Ashley Fielder and husband, John, Kimberly Copeland and husband, Keith, Shawndee Lynch and husband, Patrick, Amy McComick and husband, Jeremy, Abigail Simmons, Jonathan Payjack and wife, Shon, Thomas Payjack and Jennifer Bay and husband, Kenny and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Honoring Samuel as pallbearers will be Jonathan Rambin, Jr.; Jacob James, Joshua James, Elijah James, Jonathan Rambin, Sr., Justin James, Paul Pecory, Noah Pecory and Jared Devers.
