Samuel Richard Hollowell

Funeral services for Samuel Richard Hollowell, 80, will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home and Park, in Haughton, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Reverend Andrew Brewster.

Samuel was born on June 27, 1943, to Andrew Jackson Hollowell and Jane Blair Lowe Hollowell in Shallotte, North Carolina, and passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024, in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Samuel led a life filled with love, dedication, and service. He graduated from high school and went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Air Force. His commitment to his military service reflected his unwavering loyalty and bravery.

Outside of his military duties, Samuel found joy in various hobbies and interests. He was a proud member of The Knights of Columbus and had a deep passion for boating and water skiing.

One of Samuel’s proudest accomplishments was his enduring marriage of 33 years to Janiece Ann Hollowell. His family meant a great deal to him and brought him many years of joy and happiness. Samuel will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Samuel is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, William Hollowell, and his lifetime best friends, Caroline and Ernie Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife, Janiece Hollowell; son, Rick Hollowell; stepdaughter, Sheila Mathewes and husband, Allen; Matt and Melinda Hollowell; grandchildren, Tabitha, Hunter, Kimberly, and Victor.

Honoring Samuel as pallbearers will be Allen Mathewes, Hunter Mathewes, Wesley Stengel, Matt Hollowell, Brian Clausing, and Tim Baker.
