Samuel "Sambo" Turnage

Visitation for Samuel "Sambo" Andrew Turnage, 53, will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana starting at 12:00 p.m. with a memorial service following at 1:00 p.m. Sam was born on December 25, 1966 to James Paul Turnage and Joyce Janet Carter in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020. Sam was a resident of Keithville, Louisiana and was employed at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville. He enjoyed WWF and wrestling at a young age. He was a tow truck driver for over 25 years. He enjoyed listening to country music, especially Johnny Cash. He enjoyed watching The Voice and American Idol where he requested not to be bothered during those times. He loved his children and would make getting chicken gizzards an adventure. He is preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Turnage; father, James Paul Turnage; sister, Ruby Erwin and brother, Bill Anderson. Sam is survived by his son, Michael Turnage; daughter, Samantha Turnage; brothers, Paul Turnage and wife, Carol, Lamar Turnage and Carl Anderson; sisters, Renee' Spalding and husband, Scott and Debbie DeClark and husband, Dave. He is survived by his special companion, Theresa Shoemaker. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
