Samuel Glendon Ware Homer, LA: Samuel Glendon Ware, 84, was born April 28, 1930 at Ware's Chapel in Arkansas. He passed away Friday, July 18, 2014 at Presbyterian Village after a lengthy illness. He retired from the Louisiana Forestry Commission and Harmon Wood Company. He greatly enjoyed hunting and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Catherine Gray Ware of Homer; 1 son, Sammy Ware of Dubach; 3 daughters, Joy Lee of Bossier City, Betty Lee of Homer and Glenda Cottrell of Homer; 2 brothers, Blondell Ware and spouse, Emily of Homer, and Bobby Ware and spouse, Charlotte of Shreveport; 1 sister, Lorena Alford of Haynesville; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Rufus Ware and Clara Meek Carter Ware; 4 sons; 2 brothers, David Rufus Ware and James A. Ware; and 1 sister, Florece Ward. Memorial services will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Rodney Gray officiating with graveside services to follow at Ware's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation is on Tuesday from 5-9 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be John Cole, Mark Collins, Sydney Smith, Nathan Thompson, Larry Ware, Johnny Ware, Mitchell Ware and Keith Gray. Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Young, Eddie Harmon, Ryan Harmon, Buddy Herman, Wayne Perry and Randy Waller. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Physicians and Staff of Claiborne Family Clinic, Regional Hospice, Presbyterian Village and Dr. Dhawan.
