Sandra Lee Hoglund

A memorial service for Sandra “Sandy” Hoglund, 72, will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Brother John Bodine.

Sandy was born on June 10, 1952, to Lawrence and Lucille Hoglund in Chicago, Illinois, and passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024, in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Sandra dedicated her life to caring for others and making a difference in the lives of those around her. Throughout her career as a nurse, Sandra found joy and fulfillment in providing care to those in need. Her passion for helping others led her to volunteer in nursing homes. She had a special heart for special needs children.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Sandra’s true pride and joy were her granddaughters. She played an integral role in raising them and was actively involved in just about every aspect of their lives. One of Sandra’s proudest accomplishments was earning the title of “Aun” from her granddaughters, a special name that signified the deep bond they shared.

In addition to her dedication to nursing and her family, Sandra was known for her warm and friendly personality. While she may not have had a large circle of friends, she had a way of connecting with everyone she met, forming deep and meaningful relationships.

Sandra’s faith was also an essential part of her life. She attended Cypress Baptist Church, where she felt the love of Jesus. Anyone who met her knew that she was praying for them. In her early years, Sandra enjoyed expressing her creativity through writing children’s books, pouring her imagination into stories that would captivate young minds.

Sandra Lee Hoglund will be deeply missed by her surviving family members and friends but will forever live on in their hearts as a beacon of love, kindness, and compassion. May she rest in peace knowing that her legacy of caring for others will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Smith, and husband, Tony; sisters, Lana Webb and husband, Kenny, and Mary Hoglund; granddaughters, Sydney Smith and Finance, Josh, and London Smith (her angels); great-granddaughter, Leighton Harris; nieces, Theresa Shojai, and Julia Webb; nephews, Jim Sanders, and Preston Webb along with three great-nephews, and two great-nieces.

The family would like to express special thanks to the nurses at Fresenius Dialysis of Bossier. The nurses there were a big comfort and part of her weekly activities. They would also like to thank the nurses and Carrie the PT at Louisiana Home Care for all the attention and care they gave to Sandy.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to Lottie Moon Missions, www.imb.org
