Sandra Tennison was born on December 23, 1967, to Bonnie Gullett and Martha McClean Knotts in Minden, Louisiana, and passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Sandra was born and raised in Minden, Louisiana with her siblings Angie and Eric. After graduating from Minden High School in 1985, she went on to college and graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1990. She spent 25 years working as a Medical Technologist at the VA Medical Center. She also taught as an Instructor at Southern University. Sandra was very dedicated to her career, but she gave everything she had to her family. She was more than just a sister to Angie; she was her best friend. They spent numerous hours talking to one another on the phone multiple times a day. They loved spending time with each other be it on vacation or just hanging out at the house. They shared their love and shoulders with one another until the very end. Her biggest and proudest accomplishments in her life came in the form of her two sons. Sandra loved her boys more than anything in this world. They were her pride and joy and there was nothing she would not do for them. She was the kind of mom who not only told her boys that she loved them, but she showed them daily with her kindness, generosity, and thoughtfulness. She would take them to do all the fun things they wanted even if it wasn’t really what she had in mind. She catered to them and their happiness and did her best to give them a wonderful life. She loved holidays and would go above and beyond to decorate the house and make things festive for the family. She would even go all out and cook on Thanksgiving and Christmas to break up the monotony of eating out or serving hamburger helper. She was open-minded and strong-willed. She had the soul of an artist and was a passionate painter.  She was very fashionable and had her own style that matched however she felt that day. She had a love for music of all genres. One minute she was listening to country music and the next she was blaring rock music on the stereo. She was fearless and fun. She was fascinated with motorcycles and even had her own Harley Davidson to enjoy the open road on. She really enjoyed photography and took lots of pictures of flowers. She really had a love for flowers and would literally stop to admire and smell them any and every chance she could. She loved taking care of all kinds of plants. Tending a garden was one of her favorite passions. Her dogs were not pets but members of the family and she had a great love for them all. She was always rescuing and bringing home a dog and she cared for and gave a home to many over the years. She was just selfless and wanted to make the people she loved feel loved and cared for at all times. She made such a wonderful impression on the lives of everyone she encountered be it her family, children, friends, coworkers, or even strangers. She underestimated the impact she and her love had on everyone. She had one goal in life and that was to love and be loved and she accomplished both to the fullest. She will be missed dearly by us all.

Sandra was preceded in death by her; father, Bonnie Glen Gullettt, and mother, Martha McClean Knotts. Left to cherish her memory are her; sons, Lucas Parker Darbonne, and Justin Eagles Darbonne; sister Angie Gullett Bennett and husband, Joey; brother, Eric McClean Gullett; niece, Bonnie Michelle Liles; nephew, Patrick Dillion Liles; special friends, Renee Nelson Valentine, Terri Tibbets Lancom, Clint Beck and numerous great nieces and one great nephew.
