Sarah Marie Sims

Mansfield, LA - Funeral services honoring the life of Sarah Marie Sims, 87, will be at 2:00 PM Friday, February 24, 2017 at Spring Ridge Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill, LA with Rev. Eddie D. Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Ridge Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, LA. The family will receive friends at the Spring Ridge Baptist Church on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 5:00 till 10:00 PM. Sarah was born on July 23, 1929 to Samuel and Alice Cooper and entered into rest on February 19, 2017 in Mansfield, LA. Sarah was a loving sister, mother and grandmother. Preceding Sarah in death were her husband, John "Jack" Sims; parents, Samuel and Alice Cooper; sons, J.W. Hammonds, Robert Sims; and grandchildren, Loretta Lynn Hammonds and Jimmy Wayne Sims. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Victor Davis and wife Cathy of Jacksonville, AR, Virgil Sims and Bobby Sims both of Bismark, AR, Randy Sims and wife Kim of Farmerville, TX, and Jerry Sims of Haughton, LA; daughters, Kathryn Kelly of Shreveport, LA, Frances Sims of Jacksonville, AR, Jackie Laffitte of Mansfield, LA, Sandy Sims and husband Jess of New Mexico, and Brenda Brevelle and husband David of Mansfield, LA; siblings, Albert, Ann, Opal, Martha, Minnie, Molly and Rosa; 24 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Those honoring the life of Sarah as pallbearers will be Aaron Leone, Nick Broome, Nathan Henderson, Jeremy Phillips, Ricky Laffitte, and Bruce Phillips. Honorary Pallbearers will be Austin Henderson, Zach Henderson, Jack W. Sims, and James Hammonds.
