Sharon Jane Jenkinson Reed

Sharon Jane Jenkinson Reed, 79, was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Stephen George Jenkinson and Jane Willis Jenkinson (Terry) on June 24, 1945, and passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024 in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Clay Jenkinson; brother, Dr. Stephen Jenkinson and niece, Dr. Stephanie Jenkinson. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Reed; daughter, June Boddie Bennett; sister, Shannon Terry Wiley and husband, Ken; step-sons, Tom Reed, Jr. and John Reed; step-granddaughter, Emily Reed; niece, Morgan Wiley Farmer and husband, Jeremy; nephew, H. Cole Wiley and wife, Laura; grandnephew, Waylon Wiley Farmer; grandniece, Mae Josephine Doré Wiley; niece, Darlene Boddie Dennis and husband, Richard and a host of other family members. 

Sharon attended C.E. Byrd High School. She was the director of childcare centers and also worked in child advocacy. She was also a longtime member of the Elks Club, the Lady Elks Auxiliary Club, and the Shreveport Junior League. Sharon loved to play tennis, walk on the beach, and was a voracious reader. She collected cookbooks and baked hundreds of pound cakes for friends and family over the years. She loved chocolate, peppermints, music from the 60’s, and all things Mardi Gras. She had many adventures over the years with friends at the beach. Sharon always loved to have fun no matter where she went.

Services arranged by Rose-Neath Funeral Home. A private graveside service and memorial will be held at a later date.
