Sheila Jo Anne Rogers

HOMER, LA; Funeral services were held for Mrs. Sheila Price Rogers, 77, at the Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer, LA, on Thursday, March 19, at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Jerry Gill, officiating. Interment follow at McKenzie cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-7 P.M. Mrs. Rogers was born October 4, 1937, in Monticello, IL, to James Demetrius and Edith Genevieve Perry Price. She entered into rest on Monday, March 16, 2015, in Bossier City, LA. Mrs. Rogers was loving mother and grandmother. She was a homemaker who was proud to be a substitute teacher with the Claiborne Parish School Board. Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 56 years, James Barney Rogers; and a sister, Veronica McDow. She is survived by a son, James David Rogers and Debbie of Maud, OK; two daughters, Martha Fong and husband Kenneth of Homer, LA and Michelle Welch and husband Tony of Lincoln, NE; three sisters, Minerva Cochran and husband Rollin of Homer, LA, Theresa McCleskey and husband Gerald of Shreveport, LA, and Billie Hunter and husband Gary of Homer, LA; a sister-in-law, Frances Means of Shreveport, LA; a brother, Stanley Dean Price, Sr., and wife Millie of Lillie, LA; five grandchildren, Katie Dison and husband Jonathan, Victoria Deloach and husband Seth, Darrell Welch, Christopher Blade, and David Paul Rogers and wife Malika; three great granddaughters, Annagail, Laila and Dafinie; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Kenneth Fong, Tony Welch, Darrell Welch, Jonathan Dison, Seth DeLoach and Eric Sandifer Honorary pallbearer were John Cole, Thomas Glen Howell and Ryan Beach. For friends considering memorials honoring Mrs. Rogers, her family suggests Ruple Baptist Church or Calvary Baptist Church.
