Funeral services for Sheryl "Sheri" Ann Palmer will be held Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Minden, Louisiana officiated by Rev. Brian Mercer. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Minden. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at First United Methodist Church. Sheri was born December 10, 1950 in Shreveport, Louisiana and entered into rest December 24, 2014 in Minden, Louisiana. Sheri was a retired school teacher who spent most of 25 years enriching young lives at E.S. Richardson. After retiring she was the original administrator of the Arbor of Minden. She enjoyed the 13 years she spent being a part of the residents' lives. While a member of the Minden Chamber of Commerce she was instrumental in the selection, mentoring, and activities of students involved in the youth leadership program. In 2013 Sheri was named agent of the year for Colonial Life as well as various other accolades within the organization. She was active in First United Methodist Church. Most importantly she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was devoted to her granddaughter, Harper, and excited to welcome two new grandchildren into the family in 2015. She will be sorely missed and forever loved. Her mother Juanita Nicholson preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband James T. (Jim) Palmer of Minden, father Walter F. Nicholson of Shreveport, daughters Nicole Palmer and husband John Hochenedel of Edmond, Oklahoma, Elizabeth Palmer and Charles Bergeron of New Roads, Goddaughter Sarah Hebert, brothers Steve Nicholson and wife Linda of Shreveport, John Nicholson and wife Marilyn of Bella Vista, Arkansas, niece Christy Giglio & husband Sam, nephews Craig Nicholson and wife Lesley, Keith Nicholson and wife Allie, and great nieces and nephews Nicholas, Mia, Bella, and Walker. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Bovenzi, George Miller, Keith Craig, Keith Nicholson, Bill Ayers, and John Hebert. The family extends special thanks to Jerie Lynn Black and Mitzi Prince, Andy and Robin Fish, Dean and Kirsten, the wonderful nurses at Minden Medical Center, Dr. Bonial and Dr. Mercer.
